My Future LaMBs (Prita’s Story)

Topic:

1. If you were given access to a LaMB, what tasks would you have it perform for you?
2. Choose a side. Are you for or against lamination?

This is a picture that was made by one of my student. He said,”This is me and my LaMB pet. We are going to the park to play with other LaMBs”. Amazing isn’t it? LaMB as a pet.

I also found this drew by a quite boy in my class. A LaMB with a projectile gun on his right hand and a laser knife on his left. He said that it’s his personal LaMB-guard that will kill all the people that make him hurt. Imagine that, LaMB as a personal assassin.

Maybe some of you will think that these are funny drawing by little children. But, I don’t think that they are funny at all. In fact, these pictures are scary. The first boy think LaMB as an object (pet) not as a human. While, the second think that he can just take away life if he has the power to do that. Dear God, what has this Lamination program done to our children and future generation?

I never like LaMBs in the first place. Just seeing them in the street has given me the chilled. And these picture has even made me hate them more.

“I Will Always Love You” (Pauline’s story)

Topic: LaMBs cannot speak nor do they have free will. Have you ever been in a situation where you felt you couldn’t speak up or express yourself?

I’m walking inside the cafe in this sunny Sunday afternoon. “Hi Pauline, over here”, A pretty lady calling me from a table which is located in the corner of the cafe. With a stiffed expression on my face I walked toward her.

Lady Reporter : Thanks, for making it here. Do you want something to drink?
Me : Sure, I’ll have one ‘Earth’s orange juice’. What’s your name once more?

Lady Reporter : My name is Alura, I’m working as a journalist in Stratos magazine (She talked while ordering from an ordered panel).

Me : Yes, I read that magazine. But, I never see you there.

Alura : Well, I’m the journalist right? You won’t see me there since I wrote the articles.

Me : Oh right. So, do you think my story is interesting?

Alura : Sure Pauline!! People adore this kind of love story. And maybe if I have your story here you will be able to fulfill your love, right?

Me : We’ll if you say so.

Alura : So Pauline, tell me about yourself.

Me : My name is Pauline Night, ID: MOH-8892. I was assigned as a shepherd for LaMB Brian-2988 in Cerra Central Hospital.

Alura : And Brian-2988 was originally known as Brian Day a full time e-book writer, right?

Me : Yes.

Alura : What is your personal relationship status with Mr. Brian Day?

Me : I am his lover.

Alura : Until now?

Me : Yes

Alura : I don’t understand, how can you have a romantic relationship with a LaMB?

Me : Well he’s still the same Brian deep inside.

Alura : But could you have the same feeling as before? Don’t you think it’s weird that you’re close with him but you can’t say and do the same thing as before.

Me : But, he’s Brian. And he will be the same old Brian when he had done his sentence.

Alura : On the next three years.

Me : Yes, on the next three years.

Alura : Now don’t you think that this Lamination program is being unfair to both of you.

Me : No I don’t. If it’s unfair they won’t go through with my LaMB signing proposal for Brian-2988.

Alura : So that you will be always close to him.

Me : Right, fair enough.

Alura : Hmmm… But if you can imagine that we still used the old prison system. And you can do a routine visit just to talk with him, telling your daily life, say “Happy Birthday Brian”, or you can make his favorite dessert. Would you think that it will be better?

Me : ……………………I don’t want to answer that question.

Alura : It’s just imagining thing.

Me : You know!! I think this interview is over (I’m preparing to leave my chair).

Alura : Wait…Wait..sorry for that. Shall we go to another question? Why not just talk how much you love him, ok?

Me : You know, I don’t want to answer anymore question. I’m not sure that this is the story that you really want. And I’m still have many things to do today.

Alura : One last question? C’mon can I have one more chance?

Me : One more, that’s it!

Alura : Okay, so Pauline what do you missed most from Brian?

Me : I really missed his smile. He’s a really warm person, which is somehow the opposite of me. When I was down, he cheered me up. When I was happy, he made me even happier. And if he’s mad, he sometimes still try too smile, which is really funny. He always said “good morning” and “good night” with a smile.
Sometimes when I was on duty, I looked at him closely and said, “Brian, look! it’s me. Please smile”. But what I see was always the same stiffed LaMB face. Sometimes I really missed him even when I stand right beside him.

Alura : What do you want to say to him right now?

Me : I  love you Brian.

Alura : Do you think he will hear it?

Me : No.

(There’s a short pause in our interview after I said that word)

Alura : Can I have more question then?(She smiled at me)

Me : Hmmmmm…. Sure, why not.

Blackbird (Rider-1108’s Story)

Topic : If you had to choose a theme song for LaMB, which song would you choose. Which band would you like to perform it and why?

Date : 18-06-4501

Time : 9 PM

Location : Bureau of Public Work LaMB Incubation Center

All doors were closed and all the lights have been turned off. My battery has been on standby mode which slowly telling me to go to sleep. I wished that I could say “NO”, but I couldn’t. I wanted to shout “LET ME OUTTA HERE!!” and just walked through the shining white door, but I can’t.

Everyday, I touched what they wanted me to touched. Also seeing what they wanted me to see. Everyday they bring me to life, but never make me alive.

All this time, I still can feel but it have never become real. All the time something was telling me to stop my feeling. But, all this time I just want to wake up from this nightmare.

ANTI-Lamination Group (Alura’s Story)

Topic: Choose a side. Are you for or against lamination?

BRUAAGGG!!!!!! A shepherd slammed onto a wall and break an acessories lamp. I still see hatred in Jonah’s eyes eventhough he already hit him really hard. I don’t know if it’s a good or a bad thing to do, but deep inside I somehow feel glad that Jonah hit him.

(That night before the incident)

Both of us were driving on the street tonight using Jonah’s Mini Jet to Groto’s Bar. “Alura, can you write about this shepherd in Stratos (Name of a magazine in Cerra City)?”, Jonah asked me while driving.

“I don’t think so Jonah, since we have no proof”, I answered.

“But, you’re a journalist there right? And we both know what he’d done”

“Yes, you’re right. But, that’s not how the system work. If I do that, it will just jeopardize our movement”

Three months ago I was joining a group called “ANTI-Lamination Group”. Within those months I already joined in the group activity to make people realized about the evil of LAMBs. Since I’m a journalist I mainly involved in this group media activity. And this is where I met Jonah.

People joined this group for different reasons. For example, Jonah has a brother which is very close to him. Although he has done something wrong that make him sentenced for seven years prison, both are still really close. Jonah usually come for a routine visit to his brother to inform him about things that happened when he’s in jail. Until one day he has turned into a LaMB.

Jonah couldn’t speak to him. He couldn’t share his story nor he can listen what’s going on lately in jail life. He couldn’t tell  “Happy birthday Matt” to him. And the worst thing is he couldn’t tell him when their mother die of illness. What is worse than that? Only that can make me understand why does he hate this Lamination project.

For me, since I’m a journalist. I really hate when people take away our freedom of speak and chained our power to express ourselves. Do you know how many great writer and artist create their best work in prison? AND LAMB JUST TAKE THEM AWAY!!! That alone is enough to make me hate Lamination.

Although people joined the ANTI-Lamination Group for different reasons. We have one share visions.That we believe Lamination Project will bring nothing good to the Cerra society. It will only create emptiness, sadness, and hatred.

(That night on Groto’s Bar)

We only have a good time there with our friends. Laughing and joking as if we wouldn’t fight for those LaMB’s right tomorrow. Then I see Jonah have a discussion with two Shepherd on one cornered of the bar. From Jonah’s facial expression I knew he’s quite irritated with the topic. I move toward them just in case there will be something happen between them. When I was getting closer I heard one of the sheperd smirked and said.”LaMBs should always become LAMBs, since they are more useful to our planet when they are LAMBs than human”. Then it happened…………..
